Current Projects

Delaware Association of Conservation Districts & Maryland Association of Soil Conservation Districts

Jen serves as the Executive Director for both DACD and MASCD, working with Conservation Partners in the two Mid-Atlantic states to address soil and water conservation issues statewide. Conservation Districts have been supporting voluntary, locally-led conservation and serving their local communities for over 75 years. Their services are vital to enhance the productivity of land, protect our public infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents and businesses. Support includes:

  • Partnership building
  • Tracking of legislative issues and advocacy coordination
  • Grant writing and grant management
  • Planning meetings, events and training opportunities
  • Strategic planning
  • Communications, including dacdnet.orgdelawareenvirothon.org and mascd.net

Chesapeake Bay Program Agricultural Advisory Committee

As the coordinator for the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Agricultural Advisory Committee, Jen works with the Bay jurisdictions to develop and maintain an active and engaged membership of the AAC established in December 2024 by the Chesapeake Bay program. The team at Resource Smart organizes meetings (logistics, agenda, speakers, etc.) and develops, at the AAC direction, the processes and documents to achieve the directive of the AAC.

Delaware Soil Health Partnership

The Delaware Soil Health Partnership is an Outreach & Education effort of the Sussex Conservation District, the University of Delaware and Delaware State University Extension, Delaware NRCS, and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC).

The Delaware Soil Health Partnership provides a platform to feature regional soil health research, farmer panels and national soil health experts. As enthusiasm for soil health has grown, so has our audience size.
